Activity Log 2

On Wednesday, October 10th Karishma took the poster home. Around 6:00pm she started outlining the words on the poster in pencil. She wrote "Keep Calm and Eat Healthy" in big bold letters across the poster. At the bottom, she wrote "healthy eating = healthy living." After that, she traced over all of the writing in black permanent marker. In the end, she erased all the pencil lines.

Activity Log 1

On Tuesday, October 9th, Angelina arrived home with the watercolor paper at around 4:30 and started outlining the shape of an apple on the paper. She then used a mix of water and light green watercolor paint to paint the entire apple with a brush. Once that was dry, she added some more light green paint and a little black paint to the mixture to create a darker color for the shading of the apple. Then she used that to paint the shading of the apple. Angelina waited for it to dry and then added another layer of the same watercolor mixture to the edges of the apple to create the darkest parts of the shading. Again, she waited for it to dry. Then, she painted the stem and leaf with the same watercolor mixture from the apple. Angelina added a little more black and light green to the mixture and used it for the shading of the stem and details of the leaf. After that, she was done with the apple painting.

Introduction

Hi everyone! Our names are Angelina Lee and Karishma Miranda. For our first Ecology service learning project, we decided to paint a poster. The intention of this poster was to remind people to eat healthily. Every time someone walks by it, they would reconsider their eating habits and possibly choose a healthier option. It is common for many people, especially students to lean towards junk food. Reminding people about the importance of healthy food could hopefully serve as a solution to this issue and make for a healthy community.
